With progress, comes change. As the LPA continues to grow in official partnership's with industry airlines and peer organizations, it is time to announce new leadership. 

NEW LEADERSHIP

Captain Claudia Zapata-Cardone (UA), our current Vice President, will be leading us into 2023 and beyond. Claudia brings with her the necessary experience and drive required of this role, and will undoubtedly continue growing this amazing organization. With the full support of our board and advisors, Captain Claudia has selflessly and graciously taken on this responsibility.

Our current Executive Director of Community Outreach & DEI, Trevor Terrell (DL), will assume the duties of Vice President. His background and resume offer the experience required for running a more efficient, communicative and aggressive mission. 

 

OUR JOURNEY

After seven and a half years, five as LPA President, the time has come for me to (won’t say step aside)… but step behind these new leaders. They have my highest endorsement, and have my full support as they forge new opportunities for the LPA.  I will continue to serve in an advisory capacity amongst the Board of Directors, in addition to my new role as Executive Director of Finance. I am excited for this new chapter, and am looking forward to serving in my new role. 

 

THE SUCCESS OF ALL

The LPA’s success comes from the hard work of the pilot and future pilot volunteers that make up our 1,200+ member-strong family. We appreciate the continued loyalty and support as we ALL promote our mission of diversifying the flight deck, and helping those that need a little extra push. You are truly inspirational, and I thank each and everyone of you from the bottom of my heart, for trusting our process, and allowing me the distinct pleasure of serving as LPA President the last five years. We have built something worthwhile over the last seven and a half years, and formed the foundation of a legacy we can all be proud of. 

 

THE ROAD AHEAD

Claudia and Trevor will assume their new roles of President and Vice President on January 1, 2023. Between now and January 1, 2023, Claudia and Trevor will work closely with myself as I transition the duties and responsibilities to each of them.
