The Latino Pilots Association (LPA) Academy for Latins in Aerospace Science (ALAS) is a comprehensive program designed to inspire, mentor, develop and empower minority high school students by exposing them to various aviation career opportunities. Our primary goal is to provide a pathway for students to explore the aviation industry while also offering mentorship programs, scholarships, and grants to help kickstart their careers.

ALAS aims to break barriers and create equal opportunities for minority students interested in aviation. We recognize the need for diversity within the industry and strive to inspire the next generation of aviation professionals from various backgrounds.

Through our program, students will have the chance to engage with a wide range of aviation professionals, including pilots, mechanics, engineers, air traffic controllers, and more. By exposing them to these different career paths, we hope to ignite their passion and provide them with the necessary resources to pursue their dreams.

Additionally, ALAS offers a mentorship program that pairs students with experienced professionals in the aviation industry. These mentors will guide and support students, sharing their knowledge and expertise, and helping them navigate the complexities of the industry. Furthermore, ALAS understands the financial barriers that students may face when pursuing a career in aviation.
